Introducing 2016 Summer Conference Speaker Jim Barton

Jim Barton is going to be the speaker after our banquet Friday night for our PST Summer Conference in July.

Jim Barton, author of four collections of poetry, has won the Morris Memorial Chapbook Award, the Sybil Nash Abrams Award twice, and the Award of Merit from Poets’ Roundtable of Arkansas. He has been serving as Treasurer of the PRA and 1st Vice President of NFSPS. He loves speaking with poets about poetry and writes poetry that tells stories about nature and human nature. He is a natural born Arkansan, but his roots run deep in Texas, with family from Paris, McKinney, Franklin, Dallas, Houston and Plano. His great aunt Marie  Barton was a published poet who inspired him as a young boy to write “what you love.”
