Our meetings are open to anyone who is interested. Guests are always welcome to attend!

January 9, 2016 Happy New Year! Please join us for our first meeting of 2016 at our annual Poem-a-thon. Those in attendance will take turns reading their own poems or poems by their favorite poet. Vice President Budd Powell Mahan will also conduct a short memorial to honor our members who died in 2015. The meeting is at 2:30 pm at the Preston Royal Library, 5626 Royal Lane. Visitors are always welcome!

February 13, 2016 Please join us for A Victorian Valentine. Place yourself in the year 1896. Witness the magic of projected images as you have never seen them before! Hear poetry, music, and more. Be enthralled by one of Queen Victoria’s favorite poems, Curfew Must Not Ring Tonight by Rosa Hartwick Thorpe. Mark and Beth Ayers will present this historic slide show using an antique Magic Lantern (modified for safety). 2:30 pm at the Preston Royal Library, 5626 Royal Lane.

March 12, 2016 Lisa Salinas, winner of the 2015 Edwin M. Eakin Memorial Book Publication Award, will present an all new reading of poems in various forms, accompanied by a slideshow of visual images created especially for our state meeting. 2:30 pm at the Preston Royal Library, 5626 Royal Lane.

April 9, 2016 Fil Peach, past president of the New Mexico State Poetry Society will present the program at our meeting for National Poetry Month. Featured in the 2013-2014 Langdon Review of Arts in Texas, he has published screenplays in addition to his poetry collections, and is in demand as an energetic reader and speaker. 2:30 pm at the Preston Royal Library, 5626 Royal Lane.

April 16, 2016 PST Student Awards Festival will be held at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library located at 1515 Young Street in downtown Dallas at 2pm. Come hear students from all over Texas read their prize-winning poems!

May 14, 2016 Marilyn Stacy, Professor Emeritus from Richland College and past president of the Poetry Society will be presenting our program. 2:30 pm at the Preston Royal Library, 5626 Royal Lane.
